Lara Istaitie
Ms. Istaitie obtained a B.Sc. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and acquired her license to practice dietetics in 2012.
Ms. Istaitie has been working as a clinical dietitian for the past 9 years in several clinical and hospital settings including the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), Makassed General Hospital and lowcal the d...iet clinic. She is passionate about educating patients on nutritional practices designed to prevent disease and promote health. She has a special interest in nutrition management of cancer patients and patients with other chronic diseases. Her primary role was to work with a multidisciplinary team to care for cancer patients and provide dietetic recommendations to help manage symptoms of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery and optimize health throughout treatment and afterwards. In addition, she followed up on patients who were need in of tube feeding, nutritional supplements, diet education and counseled outpatients in the family medicine clinic at AUBMC.
Her interest in health education was not only restricted to individual counseling sessions but also in building community awareness. She collaborated with several NGOs and educational bodies in delivering community based nutrition interventions and awareness campaigns.
