This is not a space where you will be judged. Counselors are trained professionals who have heard a wide range of stories and experiences. You are not going to shock them. You are not too much. You are not dramatic. You can bring whatever is on your mind into the room.

Think of it as a conversation, not a test
The first session is about comfort and connection. You might talk about what brought you here and what has been on your mind. Your counselor may ask gentle questions to help guide the conversation and understand you better.
If you are not ready to talk much or do not know what to say, that is completely okay. Your counselor can lead with questions, help you explore step by step, or even do most of the talking while you simply listen and settle in. There is no pressure. We move at your pace.
