Hi!
I’m Dr. Fady Safwat, a Psychiatry Specialist, and I’m glad you’re here!
Reaching out for support is not easy, and taking this step often reflects both courage and hope.
I work at Abbasia Hospital for over 10 years and have extensive experience supporting individuals facing trauma, emotional distress, and complex life challenges. My clinical work has been shap...ed by years of practice in public mental health, humanitarian settings, and collaboration with non-governmental organizations supporting refugees and vulnerable communities.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centered. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and I tailor therapy to the unique needs, values, and life context of each person. I believe therapy is not only about reducing symptoms, but about restoring meaning, dignity, and psychological flexibility.
Alongside my clinical work, I serve as a consultant with StARS and as a Mental Health Advisor with TDH/PSTIC. I am also the founder of the Arabic-speaking affiliate of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), the main international body for ACT. I regularly teach, train clinicians, and speak in academic and professional settings, and I have participated in numerous television interviews aimed at increasing public awareness around mental health.
I strive to offer a safe, respectful, and confidential space—one that is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and sensitive to faith, culture, and personal values. My goal is to walk alongside you, helping you face difficulties with clarity, strength, and a renewed sense of direction.
