Elodie Rouhana

Clinical psychologist, certified and licensed to practice by the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon. I have three years of supervised experience in clinical psychology, in a number of public and private organizations and institutions, both in Lebanon and France. I hold two Master’s Degrees and have completed all my specialized training. I have also earned post-graduate experience in providing ...mental health services to people who suffer from many psychological disorders.

When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience. I help my clients, children and adults, to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, whole and safe.
And while I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, I have been trained in a range of modalities including Psychodynamic Therapy (supportive psychotherapy), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy and other somatic approaches to the treatment of psychopathologies in the medical field. I have also gained knowledge in MBT (Mentalization-Based Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) to treat people with Borderline Personality Disorder. In addition, I sometimes like to propose to my clients techniques they can do at home, such as writing or drawing, to enhance the healing process.
My educational background includes a MA in Clinical and Pathological Psychology and a second one in Psycho-analytic psychopathology of the body in the medical field, from the University of Paris Diderot. I have a B.A. in Clinical Psychology from Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Lebanon and a license to practice from the Ministry of Public Health. Throughout my years of learning, I was able to complete a total of 1,200 hours of supervised training in hospitals, private clinics, schools and rehab centers. I worked with teachers, psychiatrists, speech therapists, resource specialists, as well as doctors and other psychotherapists. I was able to watch them work and use their knowledge and experience to grow and become a better human and therapist.
Today, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do this job, as it is after all my passion. I am extremely invested in hearing people’s stories, and helping them make sense of every feeling, thought and behavior. That being said, I will be offering my clients a safe space where they can express whatever they need to express, in however way they like. I will be offering active, non-judgmental and empathic listening. We are here to have open conversations and work towards a healthier mental state. Counselor-patient confidentiality is to be respected at all times.
