My name is Marwan Gharzeddine and I am a Lebanese/Venezuelan Licensed Psychologist and currently living in Lebanon. I speak Arabic, English and Spanish.
I have an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the American University of Beirut, a Master’s Degree from Columbia University, NYC/USA in Developmental Psychology, and earned my Ph.D. Degree in Psychology, from the University of Massac...husetts, USA.
I received my USA Psychology License in 1998. Moreover, I hold a Lebanese Psychology License and I am a certified EMDR therapist. (Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing Therapy).
In the last 25 years, I have been offering counseling and psychotherapy in my private clinical practice, and I have been teaching and providing clinical supervision to graduate clinical psychology students in training as well as clinical supervision after their graduation.
I have experience in treating various disorders as well as various types of populations as well as different age groups from young children to the elderly. I also do psychological assessments, and I offer consultations for those in need of a second opinion concerning the interpretation of psychological reports and assessments from outside agencies.
My clinical practice consists of individual therapy as well as couple’s and family therapy, where I also provide support and advice to parents in managing their children undergoing developmental, behavioral, emotional, and academic/school problems.
I help individuals and families through post psychiatric hospitalizations and/or post psychotic
outbreak episodes by helping them reintegrate back into society. I also provide support to Cancer patients and their families while undergoing treatment as well as individuals undergoing other types of health difficulties.
Treatment encompasses helping client’s gain their sense of control through a wide range of psychological difficulties such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Psychosomatic Disorders, Personality Problems, Relational Problems, Gender and Sexuality Problems, Spousal and/or Parental Psychological Abuse and its impact on their victims such as developing Battered Woman Syndrome etc.
My therapy approach aims to develop the right and best intervention for each particular client’s personality style, individual needs, as well as his or her unique expression of psychological problems. Therefore, I utilize various therapy techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, Humanistic and Rogerian Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Short-Term Focused Eriksonian Therapy, as well as various schools of Family Therapy.
